Wife Advice: Tip #2 Ask For What You Want

Ask for what you want! What??? It's that easy? Yes. It really is that easy. Men are not mind readers. They want you and it's easy enough to assume they want to please you.

Because we at born absolutely #NAKED...There  are no written instructions on how to make you happy. Often, happiness is achieved on a case by case basis.

You have to make your needs common knowledge within your marriage if you want them satisfied. This way you can be your happiest self! Super happy. Long term happy

Tips on asking for what you want...

1 Determine exactly what you want. It's ridiculous that this tip has to be number one. But, if you ask for too much.. You can end up with nothing. Find out what you really want and ask for it specifically.

2. Ask for what you want in stages as you earn it. Super crazy, I know! But, being married is just like any other job. Would you go into your boss's office and ask for triple your salary without proving your worth? No way! So why would you ask your husband to do something for you that you aren't willing to reciprocate or deserve.

3. Remember that you are different people. Your spouse has to learn how to love you the way you want. He was raised in a different home with different standards and rules. You have to show him what you want if you want to be happy together. You have to set the boundaries and be consistent.

4.  Be happy with what you get. Nothing makes giving worth it more than true appreciation.

Remember, marriage is not a competition... You can both win.

Wife Advice: Tip #1 Just Say Yes

Personally, I think marriage is overrated... As a wife of 20 years, I can say this and know that it is absolutely true. It's not the paper, the ceremony, or the alleged security that I love about my marriage--it's the #BestFriendFactor. Every time I want to do something.... I think about how fun it would be to do this with my husband. Spending time with him is my all time favorite thing to do.

As a member of a very large family, I have had the privilege of observing a lot of great marriage behavior. A LOT!! So, I would like to share some of the advice I was given when I first started out. If you feel you have something to share... please send your advice to me directly at vixxbuzz@gmail.com. I welcome your comments also.

Best Wife Advice

Tip #1: Just say yes. Whatever it is that your husband needs; be willing to do it. Why? Not just because someone else is ALWAYS willing to do it for him (trust me there are shady ladies out there) but because: "Why the hell not?"

I am not saying to bend over backwards, running yourself crazy/ragged getting all his stupid crap done... I am saying if you can fit one thing into your schedule that makes more time for the two of you later... do it. A friend would do that and your spouse should be treated with that level of regard minimally.

I can't count how many times I have dropped off the dry cleaning and picked it up. Why? Because I don't worry about the day-to-day things that need to be done so I can live a comfortable life. The conversation required to make other arrangements isn't worth my time. Just like with all relationships, you have to pick your battles.

Being in a marriage requires you to work. So look at it as that... keep your standards high. Do what needs to be done. Make your husband your favorite. Never be "too good" to be a wife.

That #PamperedPrincess mentality is a waste of space in a marriage because men need certain things. Someone to talk to, someone to laugh with, someone to listen to their concerns.... if that's not you, who is it? And, what else is that person willing to do? Think about that the next time you want to be too good to be a wife.

You Missed Your Flight Now What?

You planned every second of your trip and you still missed your return flight now what?? Get together a plan is my best suggestion! Here are some tips to help you get out of town. All you need is time, a clear head, and patience.

Get to the airport and let the procedures they have in place work to your advantage. If you are on hold with the call center, you may be missing valid opportunities in the airport.
1. Stop blaming yourself. There is plenty of time to blame yourself later. Walk away from the stress of shoulda, coulda, woulda. Clear minds produce solutions to your problem.
2. Be nice to the gate agents. The agents are happy to help you. Most airline employees are hired because they are great with people and have analytical skills. In a missed flight situation, they will help you move mountains.

3. Check available flights. If you have a full fare tickets the easiest solution is rebooking on a new flight and asking to be on the standby list for an earlier flight. Use your phone app to find any deals and available seats.
4. Get on the standby list. This is critical. Hopefully, you aren't the only one missing a flight today! Get on a list and be prepared to split up your party if you need to. Your friends can help you manage coordinating a pick up.

5. Be flexible. If you can't fly into your original city, check nearby locations. You can always rent a car and drop it off in a different location. Use a phone app! Don't do this at a counter if you want to save money.

6. Stay in the boarding area of your standby flight and listen. After a missed flight and the Hail Mary pass.... You don't want to miss any gate change announcements. Stick around the area and listen to what is going on.

7. Write down your options. Write down the top 4-6 options to solve your travel issues. The number of solutions depends on how many you need to get all of the passengers on your itinerary home.

8. Consider taking a credit and flying another airline. What's done is done. Take your money and go to another airline to get home.

9. Understand the costs involved. If you have to delay your travel plans for a day or more, how is that going to affect your life? You should know how missing work can impact your career.

10. Make confirmed plans. Flights sell out quickly, confirm seats on an alternate flight before you leave the airport! So you know you will get home... Even if it's a day or two later.

Thank you for reading the tips that got me out of San Diego this weekend! I ended up using Option B.

Are you looking for a fun go to activity for a first date, friends' night out, or a place to calm yourself? Maybe you need a Paint and Sip party!

So you think you can't paint? Think again! With step-by-step instructions and as much leeway as you want, you can create a masterpiece of your very own. This concept is coupled with BYOB wine for a truly fun event. You can grab a friend or more and make it a Friend's Night Out. They even have date night painting you can complete that complement each other! You can share them with your grandkids years down the road.

All the cool cities have them and now, there is such a place in the Phoenix metro area! Pinot's Palette is located at 10625 N. Tatum Blvd, Ste D142, Phoenix, AZ 85028. The interactive class calendar shows the paintings that will be available for each session at the Paradise Valley location. You can sign up and pay online.

You pay one fee depending on the length of time you will be painting usually 2 or 3 hours. Instead of racking up your bill with wine and food, it is a #BYOB situation. Bring as much as you want... just drink responsibly! The information from the venue is: Feel free to bring any beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and/or food you may want to enjoy during the class for yourself and your group; we have glasses, plates, silverware, corkscrews, ice, etc.., along with all the paint supplies you will need.  We are a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle/Beverage and Food) establishment so we will not have drinks or food available.

The painting we are completing is featured above and is described as: The bright swirling colors create a dramatic sunrise-lit background for this old oak tree that appears to be waiting for spring to reveal its own colors to the world.

Watch Your Cheese

The other night, we were watching Why Did I Get Married? The show is overall great, but when we got to the scene where the men are discussing the 80/20... I laughed. I have always thought that this is one of the reasons that I have stayed married for so long. Not because I am settling for 80% but because I feel like I have 90% or more of my needs met at all times.
My friend said that she didn't understand why a man would leave a good woman for a 20% woman and I really thought about it. I came up with a pretty good analogy. Here it is:

When you are in a relationship, you change and grow. You spread yourself thin in areas and let things fall through the cracks. For all intents and purposes, the final result will look like Swiss Cheese. The areas where you are spread thin or missing altogether, is where this interloper fits in.

At first, it looks like he/she is filling a lot of your needs but really they are filling tiny holes in your marriage. Spots so minuscule that if left alone would rarely be cause for concern.
If you could defrag your marriage and put all of the little pieces that are missing in your relationships in an ordered way, you would see that there is a lot of cheese!

Now, if you wanted to build a sandwich, AKA #Life... would you want to build it with most of a piece of cheese or the little bits that are missing from a piece of Swiss cheese?

Marriage is work. If you take the time to do it right, you can have something that can last a lifetime. Grow together, love each other, make time, and always remember—someone somewhere would love what you have don't give them the opportunity.

Adding an Image to a Signature in Gmail from the Web

There are a few ways to add a photo to your signature. One is to create the image and upload it directly into the Gmail. But I wanted to use an image in my signature that was already on the Internet. Did you know that if you want to add an image in Gmail from the web you have to know the image's URL?

Any photo on a site that requires a password will keep your image from showing. The error will say that there isn't an image at that URL. Interesting. I am hoping that I would be able to get this done super quick!

So this is what you have to do to get your image on your Gmail signature:
  1. Go to the cog on Gmail that has all the tools in it.
  2. Scroll down to settings and select "settings" and a new window will open.
  3. Scroll in settings until you get to the signature portion.
  4. Type up your stuff. i.e. name, quote, etc.
  5. Open a new window and go to www.google.com.
In this area. You will have access to search for the image that you want. I was able to find a few images that I wanted to use by searching my name. I found several images I wanted to use. Remember it isn't necessary to make the image available first by placing it on a public website or pinning it with www.pinterest.com/ but you can!

When you find the image, select it. Then select the option that says "view image." This will open the image in it's own page. This is the URL you need to add the image to your signature. Go to the address bar and copy the URL.

Go back to your Gmail tab. You should still be in Gmail settings in the signature area and find this icon:  When you click the icon, a window will pop up asking you to type in the URL. Paste the URL you already copied into the box. The image will show. Then select the image. If the image isn't publically shared, it will not show here and you will need to select a different image.

I hope these steps help you add an image to your Gmail signature. Remember to only use images you have permission to use!

A quick tip: If you are a blogger, you can add it to a blog. Then follow the steps above to add it.
